Cobalt Skies is inspired by a view beyond the harbour wall in St Ives, Cornwall. A large expanse of sea, light bouncing on the surface of rippled water, intermittent rain and wind, lobster pots, buoys and ropes to one side, turquoise seas and a cobalt blue sky.
You'll notice lively painterly passages including drips, scratching back as well as the use of coloured glazes on top of spray paint.
I'm loving this loose approach and hope that you'll pick up on the vibrancy and vitality in the work.
